Training [Rise has a little bit of fighting experience, but not nearly as much as her friends. She didn't even have Himiko to help anymore. She's kind of just flailing at the dummy with a mic stand, getting more and more frustrated.]
Mou, this isn't working. I don't know how to fight without my Persona! Maybe if I had some of that Dust stuff...
R&R
[Rise is taking a rather unorthodox method of repelling Grimm: an impromptu concert to keep people's spirit's up.]
You've got yourself behind a door deep inside your heart again. You want to hide, you want to come out going round and round!

Shout, friends, just those words you really mean! And let your voice be heard all over the world! Stand up, when you hear the knock at the door It's me, come on out! Get ready for your True Story!

So... Think whatever's in there is worth the risk? Normally I'd be able to tell you, but I lost my Navigation abilities when I came here.
[ oh my god. ann knows that face anywhere, though she certainly looks younger. maybe it's because of her makeup -- that's ann's first thought, anyway. either way, it's rise kujikawa, standing in front of her.
Depends on if it's a dead end or if it leads somewhere.
[Lightning's tone is as no-nonsense as she is, arms crossed over her chest and blade sheathed at her hip. The wind tugs at her hair, the vines hanging over the cave entrance, but there's no growling to give away the presence of a Grimm. If there's something in there, it doesn't seem alive. Maybe they got lucky?]
Getting stuck in a dead end seems like a stupid idea to me.
[It's clear that was not the response she was expecting if the expression on Lightning's face is anything to go by. She eyes Rise sternly for a moment, then lets all her air out in a quiet sigh.
She should really know better than to underestimate teenagers by now.]
Right.
[Pulling her sword from its scabbard, she steps out in front. Rise doesn't seem to have a weapon, but is that going to stop her from going in there? Probably not.]
Stay behind me, and if I tell you to run, you run.
[Seriously? Of course not but--that's what training back in town is for!]
You have got to be kidding me.
[It's almost a whisper, more a breath than real words. She gets it: with the fate of all worlds at stake it's easy to see why anyone would join the fight, but to do this--to rush into the fray without even knowing how to fight...she's going to get herself killed.
Looking back at this girl--she doesn't even know her name--she can't help but see Hope as he was. He didn't know how to fight back then, either, and as quick as he learned it was hard. They all nearly died more than once and that was with healing magic. Here, without it...no.
No. Not this time. With a shake of her head, Lightning turns her back to the deeper innards of the cave.]
We're going back to town. Now. This is no place for a civilian to be.
Sigh You're right. I overestimated myself. I just hate feeling useless like this! I thought I'd be able to do more than navigate when Himiko changed, but I don't even have that anymore. Plus, all my Semblance does is make more "civilians" to get in the way.
[It was a something that gets Lightning's attention, her head snapping in the direction of the noise. Fang was always the tracker, not her, but that sounded too close! Her grip tightens on her sword.]
That's what training is for. They don't send green recruits into the field until they're sure they won't get killed on their first patrol.
[Or at least, they're not supposed to. When even Cocoon makes more sense than this place, then. She shakes her head, gesturing Rise forward.]
[Six has experienced a lot of weird things, for as long as she can remember. The last day or two in her own world was probably among some of the weirdest...]
[But whatever is happening here is new even by her standards.]
[Rise has possibly seen the tiny doll-sized little figure scurrying about ever since Day 1... Or maybe she hasn't. Six is so small that she can be picked up with one hand, and has developed the stealth skills to avoid just that. Tonight, however, as they're all recovering from the fight against the Grimm...]
[Tonight she's in plain sight, dangling from a sort of makeshift bench that has her feet hitting nothing but lots of air inbetween it and the ground. She doesn't seem to really understand what's happening here. She understands singing, of course. At least, on a theoretical sort of level. It's just... not really something she's experienced much, lately. At least, from anyone but herself, and even that can't really be called singing.]
[Still, after a few looks around to see what anyone else is doing and if there's something that's expected here... Six begins to quietly hum along to the song, fingers fidgeting in time with the melody. It might be hard to hear, but she's definitely trying her best.]
[She can understand needing something to keep one going.]
She was still injured from earlier, and she was still trying to figure out how to use aura, or even what it felt like. It was frustrating, she was tired, and while nursing both her shoulder and what pride she had, it was looking to be a long night.
But, then she heard singing. It seemed to startle the red head at first, and then stunned her. It was almost as if she was mystified, entranced by the song, even if it was just the other girl's voice.
It wasn't until the end that she realized she was staring, and finally she made herself look away, a little flushed and embarrassed from it. However, she didn't remain silent. It clearly was taking a lot of effort, but she finally spoke up -- even if it was only for a simple question.
"Uhm... Is that what music is like where you are from, miss?"
Asking that should have been all right, or at least she hoped it was.
I do not know of a lot of it. I mean... I only ever go into town to sell wares, and aside from that town I do not know much. Music at all is a strange thing -- for all I know, it is a lot like that.
Well, where I was is... Quiet. In the woods. I have to go into town occasionally to sell wares and buy materials, but aside from that I do not go. I could trap fish, collect eggs from the chickens and such, and there was little need for much of anything else.
[ Pause. ]
... Well, I may have to find other means to get by now, but that was how it was.
